Abridged edition of Mein Kampf. Pages selected and commented by N. Marceau. Paris. Editions du Comité Thaelmann. 1938. A 14x19 cm paperback volume of 93 pages. Printed cover, good condition, correct stitching. Yellowed interior without paper fragility. Very good condition. ABOUT: Many abridged editions of Mein Kampf appeared in the immediate pre-war period, generally to alert the French to the Hitlerian danger, and to restore passages expurgated from the edition published by Fayard in 1938 with Hitler's agreement. This was published in 1938 by the Thaelmann Committee, formed in 1934 for the liberation of the German communist leader Ernst Thaelmann (Hamburg 1886 - Buchenwald 1944). N. Marceau (Marceau Vilner, pseudonym of Naoum Fajnsztein (Wilno 1909 - Paris 1967) was one of the main leaders of this committee. He had joined the French Communist Party upon his arrival in France, around 1930. (Notice au Maitron). The extracts are divided into sections and introduced by Marceau: Becoming someone - First contacts with life - Apology for war - The lost war and its lessons - Racism and anti-Semitism - On education - With England against France - Anglo-German-Italian alliance to bring down France - The mission of the National Socialist movement - Isolating France to annihilate it. The extracts are followed by a three-page conclusion, and a page presenting the Thaelmann committee.
Among all the French editions, this version is the most difficult to find.
