US ARMY nominative jacket called IKE jacket originally fitted to a paratrooper Lieutenant of the 1st Parachute Hussar Regiment. Metal ranks on epaulettes, 1st RHP diamond on left sleeve + woven badge of the 2nd DB, bar of decoration ribbons and parachutist badge on the chest, badge of the 25th DAP on right sleeve (division dissolved in 1948).
In 1946, the 25th division became the 25th airborne division and the 1st hussars became, following an inspection by Marshal de Lattre de Tassigny, the 1st parachute hussar regiment. In March 1946, the regiment was sent to Algeria in Constantine (Gallifet district). At that time it was commanded by Colonel De Gastines, son-in-law of Marshal Louis Franchet d'Espèrey).
