Shoulder badge, original WWII, of the 11th Armored Division, Green back cut edge, worn badge, well preserved. Sending by simple letter at 1.3 euros or followed letter at 4.5 euros. The 11th US Armored Division was activated, like many American divisions, on August 15, 1942 at Camp Polk in Louisiana. Displaced on June 24, 1943 to carry out maneuvers in Louisiana, then transferred to Camp Barkeley, Texas, on September 5, 1943. She also participated in maneuvers in California. She was quartered at Kilmer Camp in New Jersey from September 16, 1944 until her departure for Europe. She embarked from the port of New York on September 29, 1944 and arrived in England on October 11, 1944. The 11th US Armored Division landed in France on December 16, 1944, crossed the Belgian border on December 29, participated in the Battle of the Bulge then and entered into Germany on March 5, 1945 and took part in the German campaign. On May 5, 1945, elements of the 11th American Armored Division liberated the Mauthausen concentration camp, located 20km from Linz. The US 11th Armored Division was disbanded in August 1945.
