90th Infantry Division cut edge Patch. original, WW2.
The division was created in 1917 and took part in the battle of Saint-Mihiel and then in the Meuse-Argonne offensive during the First World War. She was demobilized in 1919. She reappeared in 1942, during the Second World War and she was engaged on the European front. Some of its elements took part in the Normandy landings, on Utah Beach and the entire unit was landed on June 10, playing an active role during the Battle of Normandy, contributing in particular to the encirclement of the German forces in the pocket of Cliff. Subsequently, it participated in the battle of Metz and seized the fort of Kœnigsmacker, before entering Germany in December 1944. If it was forced to withdraw during the battle of the Ardennes, it then resumed its progress throughout along the German campaign, piercing the Siegfried Line and crossing the Prüm. It contributes to the capture of Mainz, advancing to the border with Czechoslovakia, which it reaches on April 18, 1945, liberating the Flossenbürg concentration camp.
