Description
Good mount with unusually cast steel hilt, simulating a long tail cap and a 17 cord fluted grip, it is in a nice patina with traces of handling.
The pommel is topped with a rivet button.
The crossguard quillons end in flat buttons turned opposite. Manufacturer's marking GEBR. WEYERSBERG in SOLINGEN regimental assignment 123 R4 .90
The 47cm blade with a sharp edge and flat back is polished white with black spots.
Without scabbard.
In service in the Saxon and Württemberg artillery and pioneers around 1855. Uncommon.
