Scarce 1892 Cavalry pistol holster

A rare tan leather "ham-style" holster for the Model 1892 service revolver, modified in 1916 for the Cavalry by the addition of a suspension triangle of the type used on Model 1916 cartridge pouches. This allowed it to be worn on the right side with suspension straps, alongside a cartridge pouch on the left. Supple leather; cartridge pocket with three loops; a number in black ink is visible on the back, and there is a faint stamp under the flap (possibly the year 1917?)... very fine overall condition; a rare piece.
